Footer (loopback knit) is a dense cotton knit with a smooth face and looped or brushed reverse. It is the main fabric for hoodies, sweatshirts and tracksuits.
Two-Thread, Three-Thread and Brushing
Footer is classed by thread count: two-thread (lighter, ~200–280 GSM) and three-thread (denser and warmer, ~300–350 GSM). It comes brushed (warm, soft reverse) or unbrushed (looped, for warmer seasons).
- Warmth: brushed three-thread is the warmest option.
- Comfort: natural cotton with good stretch.
- Shape: dense, holds hoodie and cuff structure.
- Care: wash inside out to preserve the brushing.
Where It Is Used
Hoodies and sweatshirts, tracksuits, children's clothing, joggers, merch and corporate wear. Footer is the backbone of brands' knitwear range.
Tip: for winter hoodies choose brushed three-thread of 320 GSM or higher; for mid-season, unbrushed two-thread.
